This is the principle bedroom. Through the window one looks up to the summit of Blencathra. |

The kitchen has a microwave oven, a four-ring cooker and a washing machine. The tumble drier is in the shower room. |

From the front door the view is towards Clough Head. This is the summit at the end of the Hellvelyn range. A footpath leads from the front gate across this field, over the road, and down to the river (containing trout and, in the autumn, salmon). One can have a lovely evening walk alongside the river. |

The village of Threlkeld is towards the right of the picture nestling under the southern slopes of Blencathra. |

It is a lovely walk of about an hour and a half along the disused railway track into Keswick. The track follows the course of the river (Glenderamackin) and crosses it seven times. The track forms part of the coast-to-coast cycle way.

You can also walk into Keswick
over Latrigg. This would take an extra hour but does give
marvellous views. This is a view of Blencathra from
near the top of Latrigg. Threlkeld is just off the
picture to the right. If you were to turn round you would get this view, shown below, of Keswick and Derwentwater. |
